Red Raven Press believes readers should be able to tell when generative AI materially assisted a publication and what the human author is taking responsibility for.
Texas CJIS Technical Audit Readiness Kit
AI-Assisted Production Disclosure: This publication is based on Justin Vasquez’s firsthand professional experience, observations, examples, and review of authoritative CJIS materials. Generative AI tools were used extensively to assist with drafting, organization, research synthesis, editing, and production. Justin directed the work, supplied the underlying experience and subject-matter context, reviewed and revised the final content, verified version-sensitive claims against authoritative sources, and accepts responsibility for the published material.
What the AI contributed
Drafting and restructuring prose; organizing source material; translating the author’s interviews and notes into repeatable frameworks; research synthesis; copyediting; workbook and checklist design; website and production assistance; and consistency checks across the product family.
What came from the author
The audit experiences, chronology, examples, agency-side observations, professional judgment, corrections, decisions about what mattered, methodology developed through the audit cycle, review of the final work, and responsibility for publication.
What this disclosure does not mean
It does not make the kit an official government product. It does not transfer responsibility for accuracy to an AI system. Texas DPS, the FBI, the Auditor, and other applicable authorities remain controlling for current requirements.
Red Raven Press approach
Future Red Raven Press publications may use AI differently. When generative AI materially contributes to drafting, research synthesis, editing, or production, the publication should disclose that contribution in language appropriate to the work rather than pretending the process did not happen.
